Wheels of Fortune
Vintage Indy wheels rule! I loves me some magnesium ... so I snapped a couple pics while at the 500. And a couple more. And a couple more ..............
The Faces of INDYCAR
While at the 100th running of the Indy 500, I was walking around before everything was completely set up and the driver banners were raised. As everyone walked by, paying them no mind, I noticed that the folding and windblown banners created funny faces. I couldn't help but snap a few pics.
Zach Suhr
While doing a little traveling back east, I had the good fortune of being invited to a bbq at Zach Suhr's place. A time warp of sorts, where like minded friends gather, and nature surrounds old timey awesomeness. That combined with a little shop of dreams definitely made me contemplate that if I lived there (PA), would I ever leave?
Highly doubtful.
Sorry, Santa Maria
Although I like Penny and the event, it's just not in the cards this year. I always leave early Sunday morning on order to get home before the Indy 500 is over. This year, I'm crossing Indy off my list and Santa Maria gets kicked to the curb.
No offense. See you again next year!
The last Paso, 2007
Little did I know, that our annual pilgrimage to Paso Robles would be the last. The running out of gas, pizza delivery to our tents, rattle snakes, freezing swimming pool, gigantic breakfast burritos, C-section, A&W, the Curry Inn, Paso Inn, gas station, bowling alley, belt whips and other shenanigans would come to an end. Digging through old photos brought back a bunch of memories as to how amazing that show was. It was only a year after Church was established, but the artsy photography was already beginning to take shape. Enjoy a few old snaps.
Luftgekühlt III
Never heard of it. Can't pronounce it. Completely uneducated about the subject matter ... but what an amazing event. Air cooled awesomeness was everywhere at Modernica in DTLA. Had it not been for my college chum, Laura, and her co-organizing hubby Howie Idelson, I highly doubt I would have gone. So glad I did. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Porsche. Deus Ex Machina. Magnus Walker. Jerry Seinfeld. McDreamy.
Baby steps
When my mom passed back in January, it seams my normal hi-octane brand of motivation somewhat died as well. As my biggest fan, I find it hard to believe that's how she would have wanted it. After crawling in a hole for quite some time, I'm finally poking my head out to see what the rest world has been up to. In moving forward with what may be baby steps for most, they are large strides for me. New website. New Shirts. New prints. New stuff ... all in the works. Time to quit being a little bitch and make mom proud.
F#$& cancer. You can suck it!
